Methods of fixation of the upper limb fractures
Litera, Jan ; Marcián, Petr (referee) ; Florian, Zdeněk (advisor)
The presented bachelor thesis is focused on current methods of a fixation of upper limb fractures. Part of the thesis is a literature review and a description of the upper limb anatomy. This is necessary to solve the problems associated with upper limb fractures. The history of the treatment of upper limb fractures enables to gain an insight and a benefit of the current methods of the fixation of the upper limb. Based on the acquired knowledge, there is created a simple computational model of a humeral fracture fixation using a LCP and a classical plate. The computational model for the specific load models was solved in the Ansys Workbench 18.2 computing system. The biomechanical analysis based on the results presentation of the solution of the described simple model showed differences between the application of the LCP and the classical plate.

Biomechanical study of the upper extremity plates
Linhart, Lukáš ; Marcián, Petr (referee) ; Florian, Zdeněk (advisor)
This work deals with the possibilities and principles of fixation of fractures of the upper limb. It is divided into five chapters. The introductory chapter discusses the biomechanics and its inclusion in contemporary science. The next chapter describes a brief history of healing and fixation of fractures of the upper limb. The third chapter is devoted to the anatomy of the upper limb, knowledge of which is the effective fixation of fractures of the upper extremity necessary. Another chapter is devoted to the classification and description of the type of osteosynthesis internal fixation of the upper limb. Furthermore, this chapter discusses the principles and mechanisms of LCP fixation. The last fifth point is detailed study of specific humeral locking plate. To create a computational model was used SolidWorks software and ANSYS Workbench.
Biomechanical study on upper extremity fixation
Rafaj, Svatomír ; Marcián, Petr (referee) ; Florian, Zdeněk (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with fixation and biomechanical aspects of fractures of the upper limb. The first part of the thesis discusses anatomy, knowledge of which is necessary for effective fixation of fractures. It describes the history of inner fixation of fractures and modern curing methods of fractures with a focus on locking compression plates. The second part of the thesis discusses strain-stress analysis of assemblage of humerus and applied locking compression. Computational model was created with the support of ANSYS Workbench 16.0 and SOLIDWORKS 2016 software. Computation was executed by finite element method using ANSYS Workbench 16.0 computational systém.
Biodegradable bone implants based on iron
Müller, Petr ; Kazda, Tomáš (referee) ; Sedlaříková, Marie (advisor)
The present work deals with the comparison of the properties of metallic biomaterials in terms of their suitability for use as a temporary metal implant. In the work is judged biocompatibility of materials, they are comparing the corrosion rates and the influence of additives in the iron alloy to change biocompatibility and corrosion rate. In a part of this work is suggesting a method of preparing biodegradable metallic samples with different alloying elements and determine the methods, processes and measuring the corrosion rates. Part of this work is the chapter dealing with the function and effect of iron in the human body and any complications that may occur when a surplus caused by the release of part of the implant during its degradation or corrosion products. The outcome of this work is sort of created an iron-based samples in terms of their electrochemical corrosion potential, corrosion rate of samples exposed in various corrosive solutions, spectroscopic elemental analysis and outputs from the microscopic observation of the structures.
The use and the effect of High Intensity Laser in treatment of rehabilitation patients
Benešová, Lucie ; Plevová, Kristýna (advisor) ; Fulín, Petr (referee)
This thesis deals with the effect of High Intensity Laser on soft tissues and postsurgical scars in the ankle joint area. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part presents a summary about ankle joint traumatology and its surgical management. Further there is also information about wound healing, scar formation, their examination, assessment scales and treatments. Last but not least there is a description about the laser mechanism, effect and treatment use. The main focus point of the practical part is to discover the effect of the High Intensity Laser used on soft tissues and postsurgical scars in the ankle joint area. A sub-objective is to evaluate the high power laser effect on pain reduction in the treated area. Methods: There were 20 probands tested in the practical part (average age 42,3, SD ± 13). The intervation group (n = 10) has applied High Intensity Laser Therapy (HILT) on postsurgical scars. The control group (n = 10) haven't HILT. The Observer Scar Assessment Scale (POSAS) was used for scar evaluation and pressure algometer was used for pain evaluation. Results: There was statistically proven that High Intensity Laser Therapy has an effect on pain reduction on level of significance α = 0,05, (p = 0,0047). According to the POSAS, results...
Case Study of Physiotherapy Treatment of a Patient after Osteosynthesis of the Ankle Joint
Šašková, Karolína ; Stupková, Michaela (advisor) ; Nováková, Tereza (referee)
Title: Case study of physiotherapy treatment of a patient after osteosynthesis of the ankle joint Objectives: The main aim of this paper is to summarize the theoretical information on the treatment of ankle fractures, to present a case report of a patient diagnosed with a condition after ankle osteosynthesis, to evaluate the effect of the used therapy and to confront the used procedures with EBM. Methods: The physiotherapeutic procedures and methods used in the special part were part of the bachelor's degree in physiotherapy at FTVS UK. Only non-invasive methods were used to improve the patient's health condition. Results: The result of the therapy is a slight improvement in the patient's health. Keywords: physiotherapy, rehabilitation, fracture, osteosynthesis, ankle joint
